I will not advise you to serve pork for the rat everyday. Like I stated above, pork should be served in moderation for the pet rats. 

You can look for some other things to do with the extra pork you have at home in case you have them in abundance, rather than serving them everyday for the rat.

You can serve pig bones for the rat as a treat. Pig bones are soft and easy to consume by the rat.

Can I serve pig ears for rats?

Rats can have pig ears. Pig ears are full of fat and it should be served in moderation for the rat. 

If you have some other things to serve them rather than pig ears, you can go ahead and do so. 

However, pig ears are not something you serve for the rat frequently. It should be once in a while, perhaps two times in a month is ok. 

Can baby rats eat pork?

It is not advisable to serve pork for the baby rats. Baby rats need food that contains a lot of protein, calcium and vitamins so that they can grow properly.

Chickens

Chickens are one of the safest and healthiest meats you can serve the pet rat as a treat. You need to cook the chicken to make it more palatable for the pet rat. You can also serve them the chicken bones as well. 

Apples 

Apples are one of the treats which you can serve to pet rats. You need to peel off the skins, cut the apples into different cubes and serve for your pets. Don’t forget to take away the seeds as they are toxic to the well-being of the rats. 

Carrots

Rats can also eat carrots. They can eat the raw ones, the same goes for the cooked ones. Carrots are a good source of vitamin A for the rats. You just have to cut the carrot into small cubes before you serve them for the rats. 

Bananas

I want you to know that the pet rats are not going to shy away whenever you serve them with bananas. Bananas are a good source of fiber and vitamins for the pet rat.  you only need to take off the skin and peel into small cubes for the rats.

Cranberries

Rats can also eat Cranberries. You can also serve them dried Cranberries. You can serve cranberries alone or together with other fruit for the pet rats. Cranberries should be served in moderation for the pet rats. 

Cantaloupe

Cantaloupe is one of the melons which you can serve to pet rats. Cantaloupe is a good source of antioxidants. you need to cut the cantaloupe into smaller pieces to make it pretty much easier for them to consume as a treat.
